Resume / CV
Bio: Hi, I'm Brandon! I'm a programmer, writer, and entrepreneur. After receiving my Bachelor's and
Master's degrees in Computer Science from Cornell University, I worked for Raytheon (a Fortune 100 company operating
in the defense space) for three years building and managing both classified and unclassified intelligence-critical
data systems. Since then, I've co-written and published multiple USA Today Bestselling romance books and have sold
over one million copies. What excites me the most is finding opportunities where novel cross-disciplinary approaches
can be used to produce outsized gains. To that end, I try to keep up with the latest tech developments as well as
consumer market developments, looking for opportunities to marry the two together.
Current Interests: Full-stack development
Work / Projects
- 2018-10. Tech talk on Web Scraping
- 2018-10. 24h GameJam -- Monsteroids (Only works bug-free in Chrome browser)
Github
- 2018-07. Web scraper for ecommerce site. Built with Javascript & Puppeteer. Github
- 2018-03. My "One Site Per Day" Challenge -- Starting from 3-13-2018, I
will be making one website per day for 3 weeks to broaden my web dev skills as I try to land a sweet coding job!
After that I'll be focusing on doing more in-depth projects.
- 2015. Chisel Shave Club -- subscription box business for artisanal shaving supplies. Delivered ~100 boxes. Pics | Backup Site
- 2012. Tasty Referral -- the idea was to connect restaurants with customers via an incentives program that
rewards people for sharing food pics on their social media. Didn't pass the Customer Development phase. Lots of
problems with this idea: difficult to incentivize ppl to do stuff; it's hard to make the ROI on such a rewards
system work; it's hard to track that the customers completed the action; hard to deter fraud.
- 2012. Tutora -- CRM for tutors. Didn't pass the Customer Development phase. Turns out most tutors only do
tutoring part time and so don't require a CRM solution to manage only a few clients.
